Sarawak

What is Sarawak? This is the name of a beautiful county, a state situated over the northern part of Borneo island.
Why is the name Sarawak? Any special reason to say that this place is special?
Ok..
The defination of Serawak in local language is Antimony, a metal that is very special. The metal has been mined in Sarawak area since 15th century. The metal is magical..silvery colour, relatively low melting point as compare to other metals such as iron, copper.
However the alloy of Antimony and othe metal is relatively easy to produce. This is very special since it promoted science in "China, Europe and many countries making alloy metals for tools with better strength, relatively anti-rust. Thus Sarawak contribute, since hundreds of years ago, to human civilization and modernization.
British influence casued the name Serawak to evolved to Sarawak. The first a should be pronounced as e as in Sera. Since British people pronounce a as e in local language. The name changed to Sarawak.
For example. Local people miss Pang is addressed as Miss Peng by British, and actually the right pronounciation is like Miss Pang with r sound for a. My friend Dr. Kang is known as 'dr. Ken' in Britain.
So Sarawak should sound like Serawak, with intonation at ra. Er...serawak sound more natural and beautiful...True, Sarawak is beautiful.( try to say Serawak) See you in sarawak.

How about Serawa? Oh that is Serawak taken away k...?? oh no no..Serawa is kueh pisang, a type of cake made from Banana. It is told that one of the prime minister of Malaysia used to sell Banana cakes. That 'nice old man' likes to tell the story of Serawa. He even said,"If you work properly, everyone can get rich by selling Banana cake." He likes to visit sarawak for many reasons. It may be related. Serawak taken off k then it is Serawa, a cake like thing.
What do you want to do with nice cake? that, I leave it to your imagination.
